Mobilization made it possible to recruit 30,000 people in Ukraine every month - NYT

The adoption of the law on mobilization made it possible to replenish the ranks of the Ukrainian army by 30,000 men every month. According to analysts, this will satisfy the personnel shortage at the front.

The New York Times writes about this, citing unnamed military experts.

Combat brigades at the front are celebrating the arrival of newcomers and are waiting for new additions. It is claimed that Kyiv can conscript up to 30,000 people per month, although official information on the number of those mobilized has not been made public. This is two or three times more than the last winter months, and about the same as the russian army recruits every month.

Sources of the publication named corruption and Soviet bureaucracy as one of the problems of mobilization. A majority of Ukrainians also consider the basic training of conscripts insufficient, a recent poll showed, leading some to avoid the draft for fear that they will not be ready for combat.

As it was reported, according to NATO data, mobilization in Ukraine began to progress better. In particular, thanks to the lowering of the conscription age to 25 years.

1.2 million people can be reserved from mobilization in Ukraine. More than half of this volume has already been used.
