Servicemen of the 31st Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to successfully escape from the encirclement in which they found themselves in the area of the settlement of Prohres on the Pokrovsk axis.
DeepState project analysts reported this with reference to servicemen of the brigade.
According to analysts, on July 24 at approximately 2:00 p.m., several observation posts of the 1st and 3rd battalions of the 31st Separate Mechanized Brigade were surrounded by russian troops.
It is claimed that the brigade commander never gave the order to break through, so the soldiers said that the fighters, who were surrounded, would break through with a fight.
DeepState reported that the fighters of the 31st Separate Mechanized Brigade managed to break out of the encirclement in full force. This was achieved thanks to the coordinated work of artillery, air reconnaissance and parts of adjacent units.
"It was a very nervous and difficult operation. A delay of at least a couple of hours could lead to a second ring of encirclement <...> The most important thing is that the fighters are alive and continue to hold back the enemy," DeepState analysts wrote.
They also published a fragment of the map, which shows exactly where the fighters of the 31st Separate Mechanized Brigade were encircled.

As the Ukrainian News agency reported, earlier today, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that russian troops had become more active on the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove axes.
Recall that on July 23 it became known that in the occupied part of the Donetsk Region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit a rare artillery reconnaissance complex of the russian army.
