The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi has said that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, russia has significantly increased the number of equipment and soldiers. The number of personnel has increased by more than 5 times, tanks have doubled, and artillery systems have tripled.
He told The Guardian about it.
Thus, Syrskyi noted that two and a half years after the full-scale invasion, the russians are much better resourced.
In particular, they have more tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and soldiers. Their initial invasion force of 100,000 had grown to 520,000, he said, and by the end of 2024 their numbers should reach 690,000. It is indicated that the figures for Ukraine have not been made public.
"As for the equipment, the ratio is 1:2 or 1:3 in their favor," he said.
In particular, from 2022, the number of russian tanks "doubled" - from 1,700 to 3,500. Artillery systems tripled, and armored personnel carriers increased from 4,500 to 8,900.
"The adversary has a significant advantage in terms of forces and means. Therefore, for us, the issue of supply, the issue of quality is really at the forefront," added Syrskyi.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Syrskyi also said that Ukraine has a plan to return Crimea occupied by russians, but he could not share its details.
