Rada extends martial law and mobilization until November 10

The Verkhovna Rada extended martial law and mobilization from August 12 for 90 days, i.e. until November 10. A total of 339 MPs voted for the bill 11433 for the minimum required of 226, and for 11434 - 338.

Yaroslav Zhelezniak, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Holos faction, announced this on his Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The bill 11433 provides for the approval of Presidential Decree No. 469 of July 23 "On extending the period of martial law in Ukraine", according to which the period of martial law is extended from 5:30 a.m. on August 12 for 90 days.

The bill 11434 provides for the approval of Presidential Decree No. 470 of July 23 "On extending the period of general mobilization", according to which the period of general mobilization is extended from August 12 for 90 days.

In the explanatory note to both bills, it is emphasized that their adoption will contribute to the adoption of adequate measures aimed at repelling russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada continued mobilization and martial law until August 11.

On February 24, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada approved the introduction of martial law by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in connection with the start of the war by russia and the announcement and conduct of general mobilization.
