Boeing, one of the world's largest aerospace and defense corporations, and Ukraine's leading aircraft manufacturer, Antonov State Enterprise, have signed a preliminary agreement that could pave the way for the two aircraft manufacturers to work together on unmanned systems to support Ukraine's war-torn defense industry.
Breaking Defense writes about this, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The memorandum of understanding between the companies identifies training, logistics support and maintenance of drones such as Boeing's Scan Eagle as potential areas of cooperation, and also opens the possibility for Antonov to provide engineering support to Boeing.
"We are pleased to continue our cooperation with Antonov State Enterprise to support the development and economic growth of Ukraine. This agreement demonstrates our ongoing efforts to find new opportunities for cooperation with Ukrainian industry," said Boeing CEO Ted Colbert.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in September 2023, Antonov State Enterprise created a center for the production of drones.
State enterprise Antonov is a Ukrainian aircraft construction concern that combines a design bureau, a complex of laboratories, an experimental plant and a test complex for the development and certification of aircraft.
Since April 4, 2015, the company has been part of the joint-stock company "Ukrainian Defense Industry" (formerly the state concern "Ukroboronprom").
