Turkiye will help Ukraine restore the energy system

Turkiye will help Ukraine restore the energy sector and increase the capacity of distributed generation.

This follows from a statement by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk held a meeting with the Ambassador of Turkiye to Ukraine, Mustafa Levent Bilgen.

"In the conditions of a crisis in the energy sector, when russia constantly attacks and systematically destroys the energy infrastructure, an important task is to carry out repairs and restoration of energy facilities, where possible, as well as increase the energy independence of Ukrainians through the development of distributed generation. And we welcome the participation of Turkish companies in this important process," she said.

At the meeting, they discussed directions of bilateral cooperation in the restoration of the Ukrainian energy sector, the supply of necessary equipment and the involvement of technical and expert support from Turkish specialists.

As earlier reported, Ukraine has lost 9 GW of capacity since the end of March due to russian shelling.

Meanwhile, the situation with electricity in Ukraine will improve after July 20, provided there are no massive strikes on the power system.
