In Lviv, an unknown person tried to make an attempt on the life of Iryna Farion. She was shot, she is alive.
The Ukrainian News agency was informed about this by a source in the National Police of Ukraine.
"She is alive," the police commented on Farion's condition.
The day before, Lviv City Council member Ihor Zinkevych wrote on Telegram that an unknown person shot Farion on Masaryka Street in Lviv.
"It is reported that a woman was shot on Masaryka Street. According to information, she is linguist Iryna Farion. The woman is alive," Zinkevych wrote.
He later added that Farion was in serious condition.
The incident was commented on by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region.
Farion was shot at about 7:30 p.m. An unknown person fired a shot in her direction and ran away.
It is reported that Farion was hospitalized with a head injury.
Law enforcement agencies are taking steps to identify and detain the shooter.
As the Ukrainian News agency reported, earlier this month Iryna Farion was enraged at her salary against the background of salary increases for assistants of parliamentarians.
