The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to undergo significant changes under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, appointed in February 2024. And the key initiative now is the Saving the Lives of Servicemen program, which covers a number of critical reforms - military expert Roman Yehorenko writes in the author's column.
According to information from military sources, Syrskyi focused on improving the training of military personnel, introducing innovative training programs using advanced technologies. This aims to increase the combat readiness of Ukrainian soldiers in the conditions of the modern conflict - says Yehorenko.
Significant changes also affected medical care. "Our goal is to provide high-quality medical care at all stages, from the front line to rehabilitation centers," said a representative of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
An important step is the rotation of units that have been on the front line for a long time. This event is aimed at supporting the morale of the military and providing them with the necessary rest.
Syrskyi pays special attention to the implementation of modern technologies, in particular drones and means of electronic warfare, which significantly increases the effectiveness of combat operations.
The new leadership also emphasizes strengthening the responsibility of commanders for the life and health of subordinates, forming a culture of care in military units.
Experts note that these reforms can significantly increase the fighting capacity of the Ukrainian army in the conditions of the ongoing conflict. However, their full implementation will require time and significant resources - the military expert is convinced.
