From October 2023 to the end of June 2024, a total of 788 Ukrainian servicemen went missing in the village of Krynky on the left bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson Region.
This is reported by Slidstvo.Info with reference to police data.
The article says that the war with the russians is currently underway on the islands near Krynky.
The publication talked to a dozen sailors, boatmen, and medics from various marine corps brigades who were either in Krynky or were sending people there.
Most of them say that the defense of Krynky was, from the very beginning, an extremely difficult task with limited resources.
"It was especially difficult to go there in October for the winter," one of the interlocutors told Slidstvo.Info.
Some of the participants in the Krynky landings believe that initially, it was possible to defend the village and try to expand the bridgehead, but when the village was completely wiped out, and not even ruins remained, then somewhere at the end of winter, the task of maintaining these positions became a "one-way road" for many although Investigation.Info managed to find people who were in Krynky three times.
According to law enforcement officers, 788 men are being sought as officially missing in Krynky between October 2023 and the end of June 2024. At the same time, the number of dead soldiers who managed to be taken out of there and eventually buried is much smaller - 262 defenders during this period.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Defense Forces of Ukraine allegedly withdrew from the settlements of Urozhaine (Donetsk Region) and Krynky (Kherson Region) because due to the serious destruction of the defensive positions, their further detention would lead to unnecessary losses.
