Stefanchuk considers Cabinet’s resignation without violating law impossible

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, believes that it is impossible to dismiss the Cabinet of Ministers without violating the law under martial law.

He said this at a briefing, answering a question from a Ukrainian News agency’s correspondent.

"Reading today's legislation also leads me to the opinion that it seems to me impossible to completely stop the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers without violating the legislation," he said.

Earlier, a member of the Rada from the Servant of the People faction, a member of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Fedir Venislavskyi said that the resignation of the government during the legal regime of martial law is impossible.

Stefanchuk noted that he "really trusts Venislavskyi as a professional lawyer" in the matter of the resignation of the government.

A few days ago, media reported that the Verkhovna Rada could change the prime minister in the summer. The most likely candidate to replace Denys Shmyhal is allegedly the Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyrydenko.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Minister of Justice Denys Maliuska commented on the information in the media that he allegedly wrote a resignation letter.

"In connection with the news from the Ukrainian Pravda about the planned resignation: next Wednesday I have to be in the Netherlands. I am thinking about the 'Boholiubov scheme,'" Maliuska wrote.

Probably, the minister meant going abroad, but he said it in a joking manner.
