Trump names vice presidential candidate, a hater of Ukraine

Donald Trump, who was officially announced as the presidential candidate from the Republican Party, named his deputy, Ohio Senator J. D. Vance, CNN reports.

"After much thought, and in light of the extraordinary talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited to serve as Vice President of the United States is Senator J. D. Vance," Trump said.

Among the merits of Vance, Trump mentioned that he served in the U.S. Marine Corps, worked in the financial field and IT, and has a law degree.

Vance's rivals were two more Republicans — Florida Senator Marco Rubio and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum.

He spoke out against aid to Ukraine, trying to the last to disrupt the allocation of USD 60 billion to Ukraine in April. And when the aid was approved, he declared that this aid package would be the last for Ukraine. The author of the famous phrase, "All the production capacities of the United States would not be enough for Ukraine to defeat russia."

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon closed the criminal case against former President Donald Trump for illegal storage of classified documents after leaving office.
