Verkhovna Rada member from the Servant of the People faction, head of the parliamentary budget committee Roksolana Pidlasa has announced that this year's state budget will lack UAH 400-500 billion.
The press service of the parliament has announced this with reference to Pidlasa's words after a meeting with the German Ambassador to Ukraine, Martin Jaeger, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"The main topic of conversation (with the ambassador), of course, is the implementation of the State Budget-2024 and changes to the budget to cover the "hole" of UAH 400-500 billion this year. Here we are waiting for the government's initiative," she said.
According to her, the issue of financing the 2025 state budget and the role of USD 50 billion from russian assets in this process remains open.
In a conversation with the ambassador, Pidlasa drew attention to the fact that Ukraine should have a clear permission to buy weapons with money from russian assets, and also that a part of this money should be direct budget assistance.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, a USD 5 billion "hole" needs to be closed in the state budget for 2024 in order to pay military aid in full and on time.
