The man who shot Trump was 20-year-old Pennsylvania resident Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park.

"The shooter who tried to kill former President Donald Trump on Saturday has been identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks," the newspaper quoted its source as saying.
To carry out the attack, the man armed himself with a rifle and sat on the roof of a house more than 119 meters from the stage. He managed to fire several shots before he was eliminated by snipers of special services. His rifle was later found.
The motives of Crooks' act are unknown.
