The russian ship "Mikhail Rudnitsky" and the deep-sea vehicle "AS-36" collided in the Norwegian Sea. The incident happened during the tests.
This is stated in the message of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"On July 1, during tests in the waters of the Norwegian Sea, the modernized russian AS-36 deep-sea vehicle was damaged," it says.
As noted, the modernization of the device took place in St. Petersburg at the facilities of the "Kanonersky Ship Repair Plant" since 2017.
The rescue ship “Mikhail Rudnitsky” of the Northern Fleet of the aggressor country of the russian federation became the carrier of "AS-36".
"At the time of the descent of the deep-sea vehicle to the water, the crew of the "Mikhail Rudnitsky" failed to control, which led to a collision between the hulls of the ship and the "AS-36". As a result of the incident, the russian deep-sea vehicle was damaged, which does not allow to continue the tests," the Defense Intelligence added.
The russians are currently assessing the damage and the time needed to repair the AS-36.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Polish scientists published the results of a study of the most effective naval drones in the russian federation's war against Ukraine. They concluded that the Ukrainian Magura V5 drone destroyed the most russian ships during the full-scale aggression.
