Poland will not shoot down russian missiles flying toward western Ukraine without NATO's decision.
This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of National Defense of Poland, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, in an interview with Polish Radio.
At the same time, Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that Poland will not make any decisions on this issue on its own, and that "this should be a decision of the entire NATO."
The minister noted that there is currently no such agreement in NATO and pointed to the position of the White House, which stated that they do not want an escalation of the conflict.
"Of course, there are other procedures regarding missiles on the territory of the Republic of Poland. Then this is our decision. The Minister of Defense believes that the situation with missiles flying over the territory of Poland is different. Of course, there are other procedures regarding missiles in the territory of the republic. Then this is our decision," Kosiniak-Kamysz added.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 8, on his way to the United States, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in Warsaw, where he and Donald Tusk discussed the continuation of defense cooperation, expectations from the NATO summit and signed a security agreement between Ukraine and Poland.
