The Verkhovna Rada extended mobilization and martial law until August 11.

Member of Parliament from the Holos faction, Yaroslav Zhelezniak, wrote about this in his Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

A total of 339 MPs voted for the bill 11234 for the minimum required 226, and 336 MPs voted for the bill 11235.

The bill 11234 provides for the approval of Presidential Decree No. 271 of May 6 "On extending the period of martial law in Ukraine", according to which the period of martial law is extended from 5:30 a.m. on May 14 for 90 days.

The bill 11235 provides for the approval of Presidential Decree No. 272 of May 6 "On extending the period of general mobilization", according to which the period of general mobilization is extended from May 14 for 90 days.

In the explanatory note to both bills, it is emphasized that their adoption will contribute to the adoption of adequate measures aimed at repelling russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on February 6, the Verkhovna Rada extended mobilization and martial law until May 13.

On February 24, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada approved the introduction of martial law by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in connection with the start of the war by russia and the announcement and conduct of general mobilization.
