President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposes to the Verkhovna Rada to extend mobilization and martial law from May 14 for 90 days, until August 11.

This is stated in bills Nos. 11234 and 11235 of May 6, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Bill No. 11234 provides for the approval of Presidential Decree No. 271 of May 6 "On the extension of the period of martial law in Ukraine," according to which the period of martial law is extended from 5:30 a.m. on May 14 for 90 days.

Bill No. 11235 provides for the approval of Presidential Decree No. 272 of May 6 "On the extension of the term of general mobilization," according to which the term of general mobilization is extended from May 14 for 90 days.

The explanatory note to both bills notes that their adoption will contribute to the adoption of adequate measures aimed at repelling russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on February 6, the Rada extended mobilization and martial law until May 13.

On February 24, 2022, the Rada approved the introduction by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of martial law in connection with the outbreak of war by russia and the declaration and conduct of general mobilization.
