Tetyana Vasylivna Berezhna – Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture (since October 21, 2025).

Tetyana Berezhna (née Matsyuk) was born on January 9, 1989, in Rohatyn, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.

Education

She received her higher education at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, earning a bachelor’s degree in Law and a master’s degree in Jurisprudence.

She completed an internship in the Canadian Parliament as a fellow of the Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Program (CUPP).

She also studied at the Ukrainian School of Political Studies, the Aspen Institute Kyiv in the “Values and Society” program, and the Kyiv School of Economics in the “Government Relations (GR) Specialist” track.

She completed training at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) as part of the LSE IDEAS program: “A Global System in Transition and Ukraine’s Reconstruction.”

In 2025, she completed the Strategic Architect School program at the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School (KMBS), earning a qualification in "Management and Administration."

Career

Berezhna has over 10 years of experience in the legal profession.

Since 2011, she has worked at the law firm "Vasyl Kisil & Partners."

In 2017, she received her license to practice law.

In June 2022, she was appointed Deputy Minister of Economy, where she was responsible for labor, employment, the integration of veterans into the labor market, and gender pay equity.

In 2025, she served as Ukraine’s Commissioner General at EXPO 2025 in Osaka (Japan), responsible for representing Ukraine and overseeing the national pavilion.

On July 28, 2025, she was appointed Deputy Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications and Acting Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated that Berezhna’s primary task in this role was to ensure adequate funding for Ukrainian culture during wartime.

On October 8, 2025, the Servant of the People party faction supported her candidacy for the position of Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Affairs—Minister of Culture; on October 10, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko submitted a proposal to the Verkhovna Rada for her appointment.

On October 21, 2025, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Tetiana Berezhna as Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy—Minister of Culture.
