Zelenskyy announces new support programs for Ukrainians
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced the preparation of new support programs for Ukrainians. Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"We agreed with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Ministers Oleksii Sobolev and Denys Uliutin to prepare several support programs for Ukrainians," he said.
In particular, the Ministry of Social Policy is to prepare a program of a special surcharge for Ukrainian pensioners and those groups of society that receive social assistance for April.
According to Zelenskyy, at least 13 million Ukrainians will receive such an additional payment, its amount will be UAH 1,500.
"The funds should go to people without any bureaucracy and will be automatically credited to those whose income level means that they need support," he said.
In addition, according to the President, the Ministries of Economy and Energy should prepare a support program for those people who are now under particular pressure due to the destabilization of the fuel market as a result of the situation around Iran and the reduction of oil supplies to the world market.
"The program will apply to consumers of diesel, gasoline and automotive gas in Ukraine and will work through a cashback system, allowing to compensate for part of the fuel costs. I have instructed Yuliia Sviridenko to work out the details of the support programs today or tomorrow and present them to the public," he said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Svyrydenko said that the Cabinet of Ministers is working on models to support consumers in connection with a significant increase in prices for petroleum products.
