Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia are preparing plans for evacuation and internal accommodation of the population in the event of an attack by the aggressor country russia. It was reported by Reuters on Friday, October 10.

The three Baltic states are preparing for emergencies due to increased russian provocations such as the launch of drones, cyberattacks on infrastructure, and border violations by fighter jets. Renatas Pozela, head of the Lithuanian Fire Service, who is involved in evacuation planning, believes that it is possible that the russian military will deploy and invade the three Baltic states at once.

"Sabotage of communications or transport links, a mass influx of migrants, civil unrest among Russian-speaking minorities or fake news sparking mass flight are other scenarios discussed in local media and beyond," the article says.

Countries are trying to plan for the accommodation of hundreds of thousands of people from a russian military buildup or attack. To do this, they are considering placing people in schools, universities, and Catholic churches. They have also selected collection points, trains and buses, and have accumulated materials such as toilet paper and travel beds.

The plan is to direct people in cars to secondary roads to clear others for the army, and an existing map shows cities where they can find shelter.

"It's a very reassuring message to our society that we are ready and we are planning,"Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys told Reuters.

At the same time, none of the three Baltic states has detailed plans to take anyone outside their borders.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in April, Vilnius Mayor Valdas Benkunskas unveiled a full-scale evacuation plan in case of an expansion of russian aggression from Ukraine to Lithuania.

On May 13, European Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius said that a truce or a prolonged peace in Ukraine would bring a full-scale war between russia and the European Union closer.
