Putin comments on situation with unidentified drones in Europe and says that there would be no more
Russian president vladimir putin has commented on the situation with unmanned aerial vehicles being observed over European countries and said that "there will be no more". He said this during a speech at the Valdai forum.
During the plenary session, moderator Fyodor Lukyanov asked putin about Denmark, where unidentified drones were spotted, in particular, near military facilities. When asked why putin was sending so many drones to Denmark, he said that "there will be no more."
"I won't do it anymore. Neither to France, nor to Denmark, nor to Copenhagen, nor to Lisbon... Wherever else they fly," the russian president said.
Putin also said that people who report unknown drones are having fun, "what about UFOs."
"There are so many eccentrics there, just like here. Young people will be launching drones there every day. So let them catch it all. Seriously, we don't even have drones that can reach Lisbon. There are some long-range ones, but there are no targets there, which is the most important thing," he said.
He said that the cases with drones are an escalation so that European countries increase spending on their own defense at the behest of Washington.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Munich temporarily closed air traffic because of unknown drones near the airport.
On the night of September 26, the airspace above Aalborg Airport in Denmark was closed due to unknown drones circling the city.
On September 25, Aalborg Airport in northern Denmark temporarily suspended all flights due to drones in the airspace.
On September 22, several airports in Norway and Denmark halted operations due to unknown drones that flew into the airspace of both countries.
