Trump has given ultimatum to Ukraine and russia regarding negotiations - Witkoff

US President Donald Trump wants to bring Ukraine and (the aggressor country, - ed.) russia together at the same table to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict. If the parties do not make progress, the United States will walk away from the negotiations. This was stated by US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, to Breitbart News.

Witkoff noted that Trump has issued an ultimatum to both sides to make progress in achieving a lasting peace, otherwise the United States will walk away from the negotiations.

"The President has issued an ultimatum to both sides that without these direct negotiations, if they don't happen quickly, then in his opinion the United States should step away from this conflict, whatever that means, and simply not get involved. This is what we want to mediate. This is not our war. We didn't start the war, but we want to help end it," the Special Envoy stressed.

According to him, there should be a ceasefire and the start of negotiations first. However, the US withdrawal from this process will negatively affect Ukraine, Europe and russia, which, according to Witkoff, "really wants a peaceful settlement": "Our task is to get them together in a room and show them that the alternatives to a peaceful settlement here are bad for everyone," Witkoff said.
