Detained for murder of activist Demyan Hanul receives suspicion
The man who was detained for the murder of Odesa activist Demyan Hanul was served with suspicion.
This was stated by the press secretary of the specialized prosecutor's office for defense of the southern region, Eduard Pleshko, in a comment to the Suspilne publication.
According to Pleshko, this happened on the afternoon of March 15. He was served with suspicion under Clause 11 of Part 2 of Article 115, Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - premeditated murder committed on order and illegal handling of weapons.
Pleshko also said that the prosecutor's office is asking the court to send the suspect to custody without the option of bail.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the morning of March 14, activist and volunteer Demyan Hanul was shot dead in the center of Odesa.
On the same day at 04:00 pm, the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko reported that the man suspected of the murder of Odesa activist Hanul was detained.
The SSU established that the suspect in the murder of activist Hanul is a deserter.
At the same time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed to establish all the circumstances of the murder of Odesa activist Demyan Hanul.
It was also reported that law enforcement officers are considering three main versions of the murder of activist Demyan Hanul in Odesa. In particular, the police do not rule out the involvement of russia.
