Syrskyi tells about secret plan to return Crimea
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that Ukraine has a plan to return Crimea occupied by the russians, but he could not share its details.
He told about this in an interview with the Guardian.
According to him, this is a completely realistic plan, the details of which are kept in strict secrecy.
"We will do everything possible to reach the internationally recognized borders of 1991. We must win... to free our citizens, who are in the occupied territories and who are suffering," Syrskyi said.
He added that russian ships would be forced to "completely withdraw" from Sevastopol after a series of Ukrainian attacks. Also, the results of these attacks were the destruction of radar and missile systems.
The Commander-in-Chief of the AFU also emphasized that the key goal of Ukraine is the destruction of the Kerch bridge connecting the occupied peninsula with russia. When it will become possible, Syrskyi did not say.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, restoring control over Crimea is a strategic task for Ukraine.
On February 25, the head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, said that many surprises await the russian occupiers in Crimea.
On February 5, the Commander of the Naval Forces, Vice-Admiral Oleksii Neyizhpapa, announced that this year the Crimea bridge, illegally erected by the aggressor state of russia, will cease to exist.
In April, the Cabinet of Ministers approved changes to the plan of measures for the implementation of the Strategy for De-occupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territory of Crimea, taking into account its expected liberation in the near future.
