The National Anticorruption Bureau (NACB) has denounced the bill registered in the Verkhovna Rada that allows the Rada firing NACB directors without conducting an independent assessment (audit) of their activity as undermining the guarantees of independence of the anticorruption bodies in Ukraine.
The NACB has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Chairperson of the Petro Poroshenko's Bloc parliamentary faction Artur Herasymov asked Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy to temporarily suspend from the voting the bill establishing a procedure for firing director of the NACB by the Verkhovna Rada without an audit.
MP Herasymov and Chairperson of the People's Front parliamentary faction Maksym Burbak proposed the Parliament adopt the bill that would allow the Parliament fire Director of the National Anticorruption Bureau without priorly conducting an independent assessment (audit) of his activity.
