ZAZ Ceases Lanos Car Manufacture

The Zaporozhye Automobile Building Plant joint-stock company (ZAZ) has terminated the production of Lanos car.

Tariel Vasadze, the owner of the Ukrainian Automobile Corporation that controls ZAZ has said this in an interview for the Business-Censor publication, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

He said ZAZ will continue producing small commercial vehicles.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in October, Zaporizhia Automobile Building Plant (ZAZ) joint-stock company increased the production of passenger cars by 1.15% or two units over September to 176 automobiles.

Also, the plant decreased the production of trucks by 20.3% or 12 units to 47 units, and retained the production of buses at 3 units.

In October 2016, ZAZ produced 59 passenger cars and 12 trucks.

IN the first ten months of 2017 over the same period of 2016, the plant increased production of passenger cars 13 times or by 762 cars to 825 cars, increased production of trucks 32.6 times or 279 trucks to 391 trucks.

In September, ZAZ decreased the production of passenger cars 2.3 times or by 98 units over August to 174 automobiles.

In 2016, ZAZ decreased the production of automobiles (passenger and trucks) 7.4 times or by 3,332 units to 521 automobiles.

In 2016, production of passenger cars in Ukraine decreased by 23.2% year over year to 4,340 automobiles.
