Cabinet Endorses Financial Plan Of Naftogaz For 2017, Refuses To Increase Gas Prices For Households

The Cabinet of Ministers has supported the draft financial plan of the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint stock company for 2017 on the whole but refused to increase the natural gas prices for households.

The Cabinet of Ministers endorsed the decision at its sitting on Wednesday, July 19, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

During the consideration of the Naftogaz's financial plan for 2017 First Vice Prime Minister / Economic Development and Trade Minister Stepan Kubiv said Naftogaz, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Finance Ministry, and the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry should correct the figures of revenues of the national company in compliance with the gas prices effective on April 1, 2017.

The Cabinet of Ministers supported the proposal of the first vice prime minister.

Naftogaz will submit the corrected document to the Cabinet of Ministers.

The draft financial plan of Naftogaz for 2017 foresaw revenues of UAH 234.363 billion and net profit of UAH 21.781 billion.

The draft financial plan foresaw UAH 61.402 billion of revenues from the gas transit services and UAH 0.507 billion from investment projects in Egypt.

The volume of natural gas imports in 2017 was projected at 8.5 billion cubic meters, own natural gas production of the company was projected at 13.5 billion cubic meters.

The sale of natural gas by the national company was projected at 25.5 billion cubic meters.

The volume of gas transit was projected at 74 billion cubic meters and the average gas transit tariff was projected at USD 2.65 for transit of 1,000 cubic meters by 100 kilometers.

The average price of imported natural gas was projected at USD 245 per 1,000 cubic meters.

The draft financial plan of Naftogaz for 2017 foresaw that the natural gas prices to households will grow by 18.84% or by UAH 931 from October 1 to UAH 5,873 per 1,000 cubic meters (less VAT).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2016, Naftogaz of Ukraine for the first time in the previous several years posted the net profit of UAH 26,528.989 million.

In 2016, Naftogaz of Ukraine boosted its net revenues by 43.12% or UAH 48,621.156 million to UAH 161,382.827 million year over year.

The State owns the 100-percent stake in Naftogaz through the Cabinet of Ministers.
