Ukrzaliznytsia To Extend Route Of Kyiv - Lviv High-Speed Train To Odesa

The Ukrzaliznytsia public joint-stock company plans to extend the route of the Kyiv - Lviv high-speed train to Odesa.

Director General of Ukrzaliznytsia Wojciech Balczun has written this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, Ukrzaliznytsia also plans to connect with high-speed railroad communication regional industrial center Dnipro with the Black Sea coast, Odesa city, which would be particularly useful for transportation of passengers in summer time.

In addition, according to Balczun, Ukrzaliznytsia considers extending the route of the train No.747/748 Darnytsia, Kyiv - Lviv to Przemysl.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2016, in compliance with the international financial reporting standards, Ukrzaliznytsia cut losses by 2.3 times or UAH 9.5 billion to UAH 7.3 billion year over year.

In 2016, Ukrzaliznytsia increased sales income by UAH 6.4 billion to UAH 66.6 billion.

The Ukrzaliznytsia private joint stock company started its economic activity on December 1, 2015.

The structure of Ukrzaliznytsia operates Donetsk, Lviv, Odesa, South, Southwest and Prydniprovska railways, as well as other enterprises and organizations of a single production and technological complex that provide transportation of goods and passengers.
