Ukraine has extradited Italian citizen Giuseppe Donaldo Nicosia suspected of money laundering to Italy.
Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko wrote this on his Facebook page, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Giuseppe Donaldo Nicosia is suspected of stealing millions in the euro from Italian citizens.
He has been hiding from justice for a long time in various countries worldwide.
In spring 2017, he was arrested by officers of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The extradition procedures have taken three months.
On July 16 he was delivered to Italy.
Prosecutor General Lutsenko is confident that the extradition of Nicosia gives grounds to expect a constructive stance of Italy in the case against Ukrainian military Vitalii Markiv.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on June 30, 2017, Italian law enforcement agencies arrested Markiv on suspicion of involvement in the killing of Italian journalist Andrea Rockelli in Donbas in May 2014.
