Federation Council Of Russia Approves Ban On Remittances To Ukraine Through Foreign Payment Systems

The Federation Council of the Russian Federation has approved the Law On National Payment System that specified the order of transfrontier remittances from Russia to Ukraine via foreign payment systems.

The TASS agency has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, at its plenary meeting on March 22, the State Duma (the Parliament of the Russian Federation) adopted the law (in its final reading) that bans remittances from Russia to Ukraine via foreign payment systems.

The restrictions envisioned by the bill will take effect from the day of promulgation of such information by the Regulator.

In October 2016, Ukraine expanded sanctions against Russia having imposed a ban on a number of Russian payment systems in its territory.

The sanctions touched the Colibri payment system operated by Sberbank of Russia.

Besides they touched the Zolotaya Korona, Unistream, Leader International Remittances, Anelik, and Blizko payment systems.
