EU Court Of Justice Upholds As Founded Sanctions Against Rosneft

The Court of Justice of the European Union has upheld as founded the restrictive measures adopted by the European Union and imposed on certain Russian undertakings, including Rosneft, in view of Russia's actions destabilizing the situation in Ukraine.

This is said in the judgment of the Court of Justice of the European Union of March 28, 2017, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

It reads that the measures restrict certain financial transactions and exports of certain sensitive commodities and technologies, limit access of some Russian undertakings to the market of capital and ban provision of services required for certain operations with crude oil.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Rosneft lodged a lawsuit to cancel the restrictive measures against it at Her Majesty's High Court of Justice in England in October 2014.

In February 2015, Her Majesty's High Court of Justice in England transferred the case to the Court of Justice of the European Union.
