Former member of the State Duma, the lower house of the Federal Assembly (Russian Parliament), Denis Voronenkov, was killed near Premier Palace hotel in the center of Kyiv. Head of the National Police department in Kyiv Andrii Kryschenko has told this to the 112 Ukraina TV channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports. The investigators are considering a contract murder variant. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in February, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko stated that former president Viktor Yanukovych sent two letters requesting Russia to send troops to Ukraine: one to Russian President Vladimir Putin and another one to the State Duma. Lutsenko noted that the PGO has two witnesses - former Duma members one of whom backed annexation of Crimea by Russia and former member of the Russian Duma Ilya Ponomariov, the one to vote against adoption of the federal law on procedures of Crimea and Sevastopol's inclusion as Russian territory. Asked about the former Duma member Voronenkov, who according to some Russian media companies had been granted with Ukrainian citizenship, Lutsenko said that his testimony were very important.
