Russian Sberbank Eyeing Options To Leave Ukrainian Market - Board Chairman Gref

The Russian Sberbank is eyeing options to leave the Ukrainian market.

RNS wrties this citing Russian Sberbank board chairman German Gref, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"We are looking for options to leave Ukraine. This position of the government (of Ukraine) does not give us much time. I would not like to comment anything before we make a final decision," he said.

He says the assets of the subsidiary of Sberbank in Ukraine account for 0.1% of the assets of the group.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 16, 2017, Ukraine imposed sanctions against subsidiaries of Russian banks. They are Prominvestbank, Sberbank, VTB Bank, BM Bank, and VS Bank.

The subsidiaries of Russian banks are prohibited from withdrawal of capital from Ukraine.
