Russia's Duma Approves Limiting Remittances To Ukraine

Russia's Duma Approves Limiting Remittances To Ukraine

The State Duma, the lower house of the Federal Assembly (Russian Parliament), has approved limiting remittances to Ukraine.

This is said in an article published in the Russian Newspaper, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The Duma passed the bill (in second reading) that offers to limit remittances from the Russian Federation to foreign states with the help of foreign payment systems.

Remarks touch remittances to Ukraine.

The bill aims to respond to similar ban imposed by Ukraine on operation of Russian payment systems in Ukraine.

To send money to Ukraine, one should transfer it from a card to card or from an account to account as this is not subject of the new restrictions.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2016, volume of remittances to Ukraine via resident and nonresidents' remittance systems was USD 2.488 billion and USD 352 million from Ukraine.
