President Petro Poroshenko has enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) on imposition of sanctions against five commercial banks with Russian state capital. The Ukrainian News Agency learnt this from the Presidential Decree No. 63 dated March 15. The sanctions are imposed against Sberbank, VS Bank, Prominvestbank, VTB Bank and BM Bank. The Foreign Affairs Ministry of Ukraine is urged to inform competent bodies of the European Union, United States and other states about imposition of sanctions as well as to call on them to take similar measures against respective legal entities. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the National Bank of Ukraine are urged to ensure implementation and monitoring of sanctions' efficiency. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Poroshenko urged the Cabinet of Ministers to immediately take measures to ban placing funds of state-run enterprises, institutions, organizations and economic entities possessing state corporate rights with Sberbank, VS Bank, Prominvestbank, VTB Bank and BM Bank.
