Ministry Of Finance Expecting IMF's Tranche Worth USD 1 Billion Before March 25

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine expects the International Monetary Fund to allocate the next tranche of USD 1 billion next week (March 20-24).

Finance Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk said this at the 13th annual investment conference by Dragon Capital in Kyiv, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The minister reminded that Ukraine has not ever gone that far within the IMF program.

He added that many did not believe that Ukraine would succeed so in the program however, Ukraine managed to do that.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 11, 2015, the IMF approved the EFF (Extended Fund Facility) program with the total amount of USD 17.5 billion for the period of four years.

Ukraine received the first tranche worth USD 5 billion on March 13, 2015 and the second one worth USD 1.7 billion on August 4, 2015.

In September 2016, the IMF approved providing Ukraine with the third tranche worth USD 1 billion.
