UN Human Rights Mission: 9,940 Killed, 23,455 Wounded During Conflict In Donbas

The United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission says 9,940 people have been killed and 23,455 people have got wounds during the conflict in Donbas.

This is said in a report on human rights in Ukraine of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Ukrainian News Agency reports.

These figures include Ukrainian armed forces, civilians and members of armed groups.

These figures also include 298 passengers and crewmembers of a plane of Malaysia Airlines downed in Donetsk region in July 2014.

The report reads that over 2,000 are civilians who have been killed in hostilities.

The number of civilians injured due to the conflict is estimated at between 7,000 and 9,000.

The report also reads that the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission recorded 130 conflict-related civilian casualties: 23 deaths and 107 injuries - in the period between November 16, 2016, and February 15, 2017.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the United Nations said 20 people had been killed and 91 wounded during the conflict in Donbas since January 1, 2017.
