The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) plans to allow the population to invest up to EUR 50,000 abroad.

The NBU's first deputy head Yakiv Smolyi announced this during a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Financial Policy and Banking, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"This will be the amount of investment that can be made without an individual license. It is permission for individuals to invest EUR 50,000 abroad," he said.

Earlier, the NBU announced that it intended to allow individuals to invest funds within a certain limit outside Ukraine.

This includes the ability to trade financial instruments on foreign exchanges and perform other operations.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the National Bank of Ukraine suspended the issuing of individual currency licenses to individuals in September 2016.
