The European Parliament Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs has put Ukraine on the list of third countries not requiring visas.
The Committee members backed respective decision at their meeting on Thursday, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
A total of 39 members supported the decision, one abstained and four opposed the decision.
The next procedural step of the European structures to waive visas for Ukraine will be the adoption of the decision by the European Parliament (approximately on April 5), later on April 26, it will be considered by the Committee of Permanent Representatives in the European Union (COREPER) and on about May 11, it will finally be sealed by the Council of the European Union.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 2, the COREPER confirmed the decision to waive visas for Ukraine.
