Emergency Service: No Centralised Power Supply In Avdiivka As Of 7:00 a.m.

As of 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Avdiivka, Donetsk Region was still without centralised power supply.

The State Emergency Situations Service announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Heating is supplied to the town with some 22,000 residents thanks to Avdiivka Coke Plant's combined heat and power plant.

A water reserve of 4,000 cubic metres has been created in the town storage reservoir.

Seven Emergency Service generators power social amenities that have no own backup power systems.

The salvage work engages 24 Emergencies Service staff and eight machines.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Chairman of the Donetsk regional military-civilian administration Pavlo Zhebrivskyi predicted that repair crews would proceed to the restoration of power lines in Avdiivka on March 7.

March 5, combat action caused a breakdown of a 110kV high-voltage transmission line near Avdiivka and a blackout of the town and the Donetsk Water Filtration Station.
