Cabinet Creates Governmental Commission To Investigate Into Explosion At Stepova Mine In Lviv Region

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has created a governmental commission to investigate into the explosion at Coalmine No. 10 Stepova in Hlukhiv, Sokal District, Lviv Region on March 2, 2017.

The Cabinet of Ministers made this decision at its sitting, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The time for the investigation is one month.

The chairman of the government commission is Vice Prime Minister / Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing Public Utility Economy Hennadii Zubko, and Energy and Coal Industry Minister Ihor Nasalyk is the deputy chairman of the governmental commission.

The Cabinet of Ministers orders Vice Prime Minister Volodymyr Kistion to form a commission for inspecting labor safety at all coalmines in Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, eight miners were killed and 20 were hospitalized after an explosion at Lvivvuhillia's Mine No. 10 Stepova in Hlukhiv, Sokal District, Lviv Region on March 2, 2017.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has declares March 3, 2017 a day of mourning for those killed in the Stepova Mine accident.
