Eight miners were killed and 20 were hospitalized after an explosion at Lvivvuhillia's Mine No. 10 Stepova in Hlukhiv, Sokal District, Lviv Region on March 2.
Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a statement made by the State Emergency Situations Service.
Two of the injured miners are in grave condition.
Coal production at the mine has been suspended.
The salvage and rescue operations engage units of Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry and Emergencies Service rescuers.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers will assign UAH 500,000 to each of families of the miners killed in the Stepova Mine explosion.
President Petro Poroshenko declare March 3 a day of mourning for those killed in the Stepova Mine accident.
