The National Bank of Ukraine refutes some media reports that NBU Governor Valeria Hontareva has resigned.
The press service of the National Bank announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Following inquiries from mass media the press service does not confirm reports about resignation of the NBU Governor," reads the statement.
The press service of the central bank notes that the NBU is obliged to inform about changes in the NBU Board one month before planned changes.
"There have been no announcements of such changes. Therefore, the reports are not correct," the press service added.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, some media outlets reported about possible resignation of NBU Governor Valeria Hontareva.
The reports said candidates for the post were former Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and former President of Ukraine Viktor Yuschenko.
