DPR, LPR To Stop Shipping Coal Across Boundary Line From March Should Railway Blockade Continue

Terrorist organizations Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics (DPR and LPR) say that they will stop shipping coal across the boundary line from March 1 should the railway blockade continue.

Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a DPR's statement.

In their opinion, the blockade contradicts the agreements reached in Minsk, Belarus on February 12, 2015.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, some 50 people dressed in camouflage, among them Members of Parliament Semen Semenchenko, Pavlo Kostenko, Taras Pastukh (all from Samopomich Association) and Volodymyr Parasiuk (non-affiliated) on January 25 began hampering movements of rail trains in the 41st kilometer of the Svitlanove-to-Shypilove haul.

The blockade of movement of commodities across the boundary line is aimed, inter alia, at termination of the purchase of anthracite coal on the non-government controlled territories.

On February 13, anthracite supplies to Ukrainian thermal power plants stopped completely and the Cabinet of Ministers introduced the state of emergency on the electric energy market whereupon.

President Petro Poroshenko thinks that Ukraine should not 100% abandon the anthracite coal mined in the non-government controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions.
