Kyiv Starts Pilot Project Of Funding Treatment, Life Support For HIV Infected Persons

The Kyiv Municipal State Administration has started a pilot project of funding treatment and life support for HIV infected persons.

Administration Deputy Chairman Mykola Povoroznik said this when signing a memorandum with the Darnytskyi and Shevchenkivskyi District State Administrations and the organisation called 100 Percent of Life, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

It receives support from the USAID project HIV Reform in Action.

The project will also apply in the Podilskyi and Obolonskyi districts of the capital.

Within the project, short-term HIV tests will be provided at district municipal medical institutions.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria assigned USD 133.882 million to the Ministry of Healthcare to combat the HIV infection and TB till December 31, 2017.
