SBU: Russia Preparing Violent Provocations During 18-22 February Events Honoring Memories Of Heavenly Hundred Heroes In Kyiv

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) believes that Russia is preparing violent provocations during events honoring the memories of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes in Kyiv from 18 to 22 February.

The SBU head's chief of staff Oleksandr Tkachuk announced this at a news briefing, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"According to our information, in Kyiv about is 18 mass events are planned for 18-22 February. We are seeing some signs of the use of violent scenarios in the preparation of eight, three of which are being organized from the territory of the Russian Federation," he said.

In particular, the SBU believes that Russian intelligence agents, blogger Sergei Zhuk, the Nazhdak organization's head Nikolai Dulsky are organizing groups in social networks and calling for armed provocations during remembrance events on the anniversary of the shooting of hundreds of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes.

In addition, according to the SBU, Russia is financing bots in social networks and content advertisements promoting these groups.

The SBU called on citizens not to succumb to provocations.

According to the SBU, there are no mechanisms for blocking the dissemination of this information.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, 6,000 law enforcement officers will ensure order during events honoring the memories of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes in Kyiv from 18 to 22 February.
