Estonia Allocates EUR 400,000 To UN Refugee Agency And Red Cross To Help People In Avdiivka, Donetsk Region

Estonia has allocated EUR 400,000 to the United Nations Refugee Agency and the Red Cross International Committee to help people in Avdiivka, Donetsk region.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"(Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo) Klimkin thanked (Foreign Minister of Estonia Sven) Mikser for the unconditional support to Ukraine in the hard time, including for the recent allocation of EUR 400,000 to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Red Cross International Committee that are rendering help to people in Avdiivka," reads the statement following a meeting of the foreign ministers in New York on February 13.

According to the statement, Foreign Minister Mikser says it is important to preserve the current regime of sanctions against the Russian Federation.

Foreign Minister Klimkin told his Estonian colleague about a ministerial meeting of the United Nations Security Council on February 21 on the issues of conflicts in Europe and invited Estonia to take an active part in the meeting.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko appreciates the cooperation with Estonia in security.
