The Ukrenergo national power generating company urges the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to introduce the emergency situation in the market of electricity over the suspension of anthracite supplies from the zone of the antiterrorist operation.
Vsevolod Kovalchuk, acting director general of the Ukrenergo company, announced this at the meeting of the anti-crisis headquarters, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"If anthracite supplies do not resume in the near future, a decision on introduction of the emergency situation in the market of electricity is necessary, as well as introduction of temporary anti-crisis measures," he said.
The Energy and Coal Industry Ministry of Ukraine has moved forward with an initiative to introduce the emergency situation in the electricity market over the suspension of anthracite supplies from the zone of the antiterrorist operation.
Energy and Coal Industry Minister Ihor Nasalyk announced this at the meeting of the anti-crisis headquarters.
"The Energy and Coal Industry Ministry will suggest an emergency situation in the energy sector. The draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers will be sent for consideration of the government in the near future," he said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukrenergo says the anthracite reserves at the warehouses of the Ukrainian thermal power plants decreased by 1.86% or 16,000 tons in the February 6-12 period, to 842,000 tons.
January 30 - February 5, anthracite reserves fell by 2.6% or 23,000 tons to 858,000 tons (186,000 tons was at the Luhansk TPP, which is disconnected from the Integrated Power System of Ukraine).
