UN Security Council Adopts Ukraine-Initiated Resolution On Protection Of Critical Infrastructure

The United Nations Security Council has adopted a resolution, initiated by Ukraine, on protection of critical infrastructure against terrorist attacks.

Member states of the UN Security Council voted on the resolution on Monday, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Co-authors of the resolution of the UN Security Council are 30 member states of the United Nations.

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin chaired the meeting of the UN Security Council.

The resolution aims at increasing the efficiency of the efforts of the international community on countering terror attacks against facilities of critical infrastructure.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine on February 1 assumed the presidency of the UN Security Council.

Ukraine finds it pressing consideration by the UN Security Council under its presidency in February of the issues of protection of critical infrastructures and resolution of conflicts in Europe.
