Ukraine expects that the free trade agreement with Canada will take effect by the summer of 2017.
Natalia Mykolska, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, announced this live on ICTV channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
She says the free trade agreement with Canada is prepared for ratification by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine and Canada on July 11, 2016 signed the Canada - Ukraine Free Trade Agreement (CUFTA).
The CUFTA envisages opportunities for Ukraine to supply poultry meat, eggs and egg products, dairy products and cheese, beef, pork, margarine, wheat and barley at the zero rate of charge on imports but within the limits of tariff quotas.
The parliaments of Ukraine and Canada were supposed to ratify the free trade area agreement by the end of 2016.
